Centre Jean Giono

The Centre was created in 1992 to reveal the writer and his works. It develops two types of activities:

- It is a place for documentation and research. It puts at the disposal of the public a library with unpublished and rare texts, manuscripts, correspondence, translations, academic works, critical of biographical studies and original editions ; a video library wirth documents about the writer and films derived from his books.

- It is also a cultural centre which shows permanent exhibitions ("Jean Giono, the still traveller"), temporary artistic and literary exhibitions focused on a topic that is present in the writer's works ; literary excursions to discover the places of inspiration of the writer ; two workshops about the Provence of Jean Giono, with writing and water-colour painting ; creation and broadcasting of educational tools about Giono's works ; meetings with writers and reading performances by comedians ; shop and book-shop with exhibitions' catalogues, videos and images.
